Machinima
The term machinima (machine plus cinema) refers to the production of videos in 3D virtual environments. Through collaboration with extremely helpful librarians, I was able to begin learning the art of machinima in Second Life. I still have much to learn about the enormous variety of video formats (.avi, .mov, etc), codecs (compression and decompression of the files), as well as how to choose the correct settings for clear resolution. I have found filming in the virtual world to be an enjoyable and creative experience, so I thought I would share a few samples of my humble intitial efforts.
