Dr. Valerie Hill has 25 years experience in education. She was presented with the Librarian of the Year for Lewisville ISD in 2010 and Texas Computer Education Association Librarian of the Year Finalist in 2007. After serving as a school librarian and professor of library and information science, Dr. Hilhas continued teaching and researching information literacy in global digital participatory culture. Her interests include all information literacy formats (media literacy, digital literacy, transliteracy, metaliteracy), human-computer interaction, philosophy, literature and storytelling. As a National Writing Trainer, Dr. Hill specializes in connecting literature to writing. Her research focus is the innovation of virtual worlds in libraries and education. Specialties include: multi-media production, video-editing, machinima, teaching writing, web 2.0 tools, and immersive learning environments.
